Need for Alerts for every Investor

Investment is all about looking for right opportunities to make the right investment; Investment is also about protecting the wealth against volatility of the market. Investors today are seeking the tools that would enable them to ‘cued ‘on the relevant news, and events, prices or technical tools that enables them to make a winnable trade.  One of the tools is of course an alert system that is delivered to them on  a real time basis , at the time and place of their choice and delivered to them in the mode they want .

Post investment the investor would seek alerted on his portfolio movement so that he can take the necessary action.

Does such a wonderful tool exist?

Yes It Indeed does for sure ….  In www.marketsimplified.com

Alert System:  Alert system is one of the important features of Market Simplified, one of those few systems available which can be customized to the users need and requirement.  Gone are the days when the user needs to be in front of the terminal to track any change in prices or call up his broker umpteen number of times to find out about the market, instead with Market Simplified you can just set your alert facility and carry with other ‘things’ in life your mobile takes charge and alerts you.

Unlike the other sites, where Alert facilities are provided only to registered users, Alert facilities are available for both ‘registered’ and ‘anonymous’ users.  The two main sections are ‘Express Alerts’ and ‘Alert CAN’ facilities which can be seen in the’ Home Screen’ itself.

Express Alert is based on ‘symbols’, users need to register with their Email and

Mobile

.  Users have to provide their email address and in case of mobile, provide details of the service provider.  When a user registers with the help of Email, a verification code consisting of 6 numbers is sent to his email ID (for security purpose) and he has to activate the same within 24 hours.  A very unique facility of Express Alert is that the user need not register to make use of the same.

Alert CAN:  Two major features are the Good Morning alert and Portfolio roundup.  In case of Good Morning’ facility, subscription is available only to registered users.  It greets you in the morning with the market summary of the day and opening position of the indices.  Portfolio Roundup sums up the day providing you with closing position of the chosen symbols and performance of the related portfolio for the day; News relating to the chosen portfolio is also triggered, as we know how important fundas are!

Another important aspect of Alert CAN is that it does not have any pre set symbol but functions with pre set criteria.  With the various combinations present in Source Symbol and Filter, the user can assign a symbol, which forms the ‘title’ of the combination chosen by the user.

The entire alert system can be managed through Alert Overview, Alert History and Advanced Setup.  The Alert Overview gives a synopsis of the active alerts.  Alert History provides with the list of alerts which have been triggered.  Advanced Setup helps in managing the device, which has been chosen to give alert.

Alert facilities are designed to make your life simple, so welcome to the world of Market Simplified and find your happiness amplified.

Note:-

  • Any number of CAN’s can be set.
  • Registered users can include any number of device but only 100 alerts
  • Alert Credit facilities are given wherein Alert Packs can be brought online once the registered users run out of alerts
  • Advanced Set up reflects the limits that can be set per day, per month.
  • Limit can be set per symbol, per mobile, per mobile-mail, per Email.

The user can set his own customized template

Market Simplifed-the team's view-II

Hi, Welcome to the second part of the team's view..Dont worry it wont stretch to innumerable sections like a soap, afterall we are striving to make the whole universe short and simple!

Here are the rest of the team's view

Vijay or Palm vijay as he is fondly called is a 'man of few words' but a man of action!...he summarised the entire site in one word 'it is simple' and as he claims it is

He further adds "the NLP section makes the site unique.  It is one such kind of site which is available both on the webfront and on the mobile front.  We get to see live update of prices.  People who are new to investment can learn in an easy and effortless manner" src="http://blogs.inxsasia.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/06/26/picture_010.jpg" border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px" />

Gopinath:

"Having handled investments and having seen the equity markets evolve from an outcry to a online system , I empathaised  with the need for the 'average investor ' for a NEUTRAL , UNBAISED , READY TO USE , EASY ACCESS , NEWS OF RELAVANCE , INFORMATION FLOW .

To me www.marketsimplified.com is a proof of concept . Proof of what our financial platform can do , Our Alert system is simple solution for the complex problem of monitoring and creating safety net on the investment   Clearly to quote the words of our co-founder and my dear friend Nagendra , Our aim is to be what google is to search , what hotmail did to email and what intel did to the microchip industry .... To make a tangable and positive difference to an simple retail investor . To give him that extra edge that will enable him to make the right and well informed decision ."

Prashanth: "Market Simplified can be aptly described as the 'financial search platform'.  The unique feature are the 'alert' facility.  The charts in the technical section are derivative in terms of reflecting 'gain percentage' which itself is innovative and unique than the other sites.  'The discover mode' of moving average, which again is the  best fit among moving average.  Another important factor is the ability to import portfolio from other sites!  It encompasses all the features of other finance site and more.  It is simple to use, even for a newbie in a finance sector. "

Deepak: "Market Simplified to me is something revolutionary.  It's been built to help the ordinary men to make informed investment decisions.  It can be best described as simple, clean and to the point.  This is the first step taken towards building a greater 'financial information exchange'.  In a short while it is all set to evolve into a more intelligent system, making it an insperable financial tool from the eyes of the investors"Picture_014

In the Pic:Deepak&Vinod

Hiran: "Every single financial data point an be interpreted in more than one way, depending on the nature of investment, and when you have tons of interpretation for hundreds of financial data point, then chances of disorderliness are high.  Market simplified simplifies the process at a single click.  Alerts, CUG, Portfolis are some of the powerful, advanced but simple solutions.

Hemant:

If you hop over to stanford.edu and start skimming through things, then if you
are lucky enough you would come across following quote:

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent.
It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite
direction."
                                  -- Albert Einstein.

How true! As programmers we have come to love complex interfaces, convoluted
jargons and we just love complexity.
Above quote is not by a genius of our times and yet captures very essence of
complexity that clutters modern technological interfaces.
With marketsimplified we set out to do just opposite. No sir, we don't want
deeply inter weaned links, we don't want your jazzy pop ups. All we wanted
was a simple and yet powerful product that would delight users.

I know, we are yet to achieve many of those lofty goals, but I believe we are
on the right track.

Market Simplified-The team's view

Before the users evaluate Market Simplified, we felt that it was the people who were responsible for building the site could best describe it.  What else can be better than hear it from the horse (in this cases horses!) mouth!

In the Picture: (L to R):-uttam,(admin)Vijay, Palm Vijay, SriramPicture_003

Here is what each of us in the team has to say about Market Simplified.

Govi (aka Govindarajan):” Market Simplified, powered by a unique platform, makes
any available information dissemination channel, within our reach. With the flexibility and the agility of the entire model, developing for newer platforms or adding new services is, at max, a week's work”

Rags (aka Raghavan): “Introducing NLP search is a new concept in building a finance site, and Market Simplified has pioneered the same.  The other unique features are the CUG (Closed User Group) method adopted in building the community section, a killer application for B-to-B site.  Market Simplified is built on a unique and an interesting platform, which enables to expand search, add indicators, the scalability is huge and adding of features is possible through the same.  Many users have commented one very unique aspect of the site, ‘ it is not cluttered, or is spilling with information’…. it is based on a logic of matching the exact requirements of the user.”

Uttam: “The look and feel of the site itself is simple and so non-confusing.  The financial dashboard provides widgets to all users, the use of financial dashboard helps in using the drag and drop option and gives more freedom for the user to build his own customised site. The other important aspect is the usage of the NLP (Natural Language Processing), which makes answering query in a precise and exact manner.  Dropping a hint of suspense on the ‘community page’. It is something to look forward to!”

Kumaresan:  “The critical feature of MS is its platform, which aids in implementing any feature immediately; we can immediately carry out changes put forth by the users.  (A unique feature which other finance site lack).  The other important aspect is the ‘Alert System’ which happens to be preset in other site, but in case of MS one can choose the various combinations in setting his/her alert, it may range from setting buy or sell alarm to current quotes.

Market Simplified boasts of

Good Morning Alert: which gives the user a quick run through on what is the days market position

Portfolio Round up: Where symbols (that a user has chosen) position is provided.”

Unni: “NLP features help in assessing information from the site itself and hence helps in answering abstract question, it also enables in more features to be added.  NLP aids in providing direct answers to queries.  Eg: the search for ‘EPS of Google’ provides the answer in about 3-4 secs! Which is amazing.”

Coming to ‘Alerts’ the criteria on which it is based is vast and expandable.  The application is available both on the ‘web front and on mobile’ making it one of the most unique site.  Another important information is that the portfolio section is available for free users but is not so in other sites! Which itself makes it important for all retail investors to register in and quick!

Sriram: “The alert facilities are such it is based on set recipes, which again is expandable.  The users can try various combinations of the set recipes and come out with his own ‘dish’ oh sorry ‘alerts’!

News triggering is also available on whatever mobile devise that a user chooses, hey by the way there is a vast range available on the mobile section, wherein the user can choose his instrument and set it according to his requirements.”

Udayasri:  “All sorts of charts from historic to moving average are available on the site, this is not the case with other site.  The platform enables for more addition of features or instruments (mobile) thus making it unique and indispensable for the users.  There can be changes made to the ranges and indicators in the technical section itself; thereby empowering users to view what he want to see! Fundamental, Technical and Portfolio section is available for each symbol chosen which is again available for the user on the move (mobile).”

Kiran Soumya: “Till now though there are many global players, none could cross over the wizard of financial odds…

Here comes our Financial God…Market Simplified!”

The WB FAN CLUB

This is a dedication to the true living ledged for any investor --- Warren Edward Buffet .  He has been by far the single source of bacon of hope for investor  . Like his guru Benjamin Graham he has been adhering to his theory of stock picking , investment style . The methods he has followed are simple , however it has withstood the test of time

Buffet has amassed an enormous fortune from astute investments managed through the holding company Berkshire Hathway , for  which he is the largest shareholder and CEO. With an estimated current net worth of around US$52 billion, he was ranked by Forbes as the third-richest person in the world as of April 2007.

Did you know that a $10,000 investment in Berkshire Hathaway in 1965, the year Warren Buffett took control of it, would grow to be worth nearly $30 million by 2005? By comparison, $10,000 in the S&P 500 would have grown to only about $500,000. Whether you like him or not, Buffett's investment strategy is arguably the most successful ever. With a sustained compound return this high for this long, it's no wonder Buffett's legend has swelled to mythical proportions. But how the heck did he do it? In this article, we'll introduce you to some of the most important tenets of Buffett's investment philosophy..

-Gopinath

In his latest edition of "The Warren Buffett Way" (2004), Robert Hagstrom illustrates the investment methods of the world’s most prominent value investor. If you want to emulate a classic value style, you already know that Warren Buffett is a great role model. Early in his career, Buffett said, “I’m 85% Benjamin Graham.” Graham is the godfather of value investing. He introduced the idea of intrinsic value - the underlying fair value of a stock based on its future earnings power.

There are a few things worth noting about Buffett’s interpretation of value investing. First, like so many successful formulas, it looks simple. But simple does not mean easy. Buffett utilizes about a dozen “investing tenets”, or key considerations. One of them asks if management is candid with shareholders. This is simple to ask and simple to understand, but it is not easy to answer.

What does he look for

Like any other fund manager he looks for key financial parameters viz ..Return on Equity over a longer term, Has the company avoided excess debt ,Are profit margins on the way up ? , Has the company been public long enough , is it widely held ? , Do companies product rely on a commodity ?  Is the stock at a discount to the real value ? .

Apart from this he looks for qualitative aspects like Business , Management and Industry.

The man has continued to marvel both for his ability to generate returns and more so as a human being who is keen to not only make the wealth but distribute the same ..In June ’06 he made an announcement to donate over $ 30 billion of his wealth to the Bill Gates foundation His ability to donate billions for the benefit of humanity is by far a true reflection of his personality.

Truly this is one FAN CLUB which will have a world wide following

Market Simplified-The Product

Market Simplified:

Let me give you a gist of ‘Market Simplified’ and others in the team would join me to add on to this.  Getting to answer some questions was how ‘Market Simplified’ came into existence.  Now what were the questions? Read on and I am sure you will ‘nod your head’ in agreement to many of the questions, that we had posed ourselves in the process of building ‘Market Simplified’.

When was the last time you looked into your Finance portal and found exactly what you wanted in a minute? When was the last time you found news that mattered to you? When was the last time when you had decided on your buy/sell activity without clicking various pages before finalizing your decision?  And last but the most important, will information be available when on the move, while traveling or away on a meeting?

Well Market Simplified has come to your aid and following are what summarizes ‘Market Simplified’ as a solution to the above questions:

  1. Totally user- friendly, customizable financial home page.
  2. A financial search-engine tool, which answers all your financial queries.
  3. Dynamic and Perpetual Alerts on various parameters, that can be set by the users themselves.
  4. A new look at the ‘community forum’ through ‘Closed Community User’ groups which safeguards any information passed on within the selected community.
  5. Information and decision can be made while on the move-‘Market Simplified on mobile’.

And do take a look at our mobile version at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4ZHOmKH6S8

Of course you might find much more use for ‘Market Simplified’ than that is listed above.  And the business team would be joining me in providing their own view on the product.  Welcome to the world of easy and simple trading….welcome to www.marketsimplified.com

The team

The team(owners) of INXSASIA, consist of people who are brimming with energy and have a vast talent pool.  As said earlier they have been through the most rigorous and possibly the toughest selection process and hence it is some of the finest 'intelligensia' that we have on board.  INXS Asia is a boutique organisation and each of us form exiquisite part of the company.  On the development front we have govi, Hemant, Hiran, Kiran Soumya, Kumaresan, Prashanth, Raghavan, Sriram, Udayshri, Unni, Uttam, Vijay.  " border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px" />

Dsc00570

The Account section comprising of Ramesh and Vijay have a very busy time trying to organise and keeping books in order.

Dsc00575

The Business team of Gopinath, Vinod Muthukrishnan, Deepak go in tandem with the development people (unlike other industries:-)) and have a very huge target (of course, set by themselves) to meet, as the product launch nears.

Dsc00578

Talking of our selection process, one example of how 'INXS' feels about attitude and not background or 'experience' is that  of Vinod Muthukrishnan, he was a sailor before he joined INXS! We found out his desire to have a 'land' job and he fitted the bill of 'Business Strategist'...guess the captain found his land!

I definetly need to mention about our support system in the form of 'velu' who along with the help of Vijay has seen to it that we dont forget food in the excitement of things and sees to it that INXS is still habitable with weeks of sleeping and eating in the office!

Everyone's hands are full now, with work, this does not and should not stop them to unwind and relax so that they could come back with the same vigour and vitality to forge ahead.

Working along with them are Nagendra and myself (Venkat), giving them everybit of guidance and encouragement they need (By the way it often happens that they end up giving me the same most of the time).

Evolution of Market Simplified

This blog is dedicated to the team of ‘Market Simplified’ and the online investing community.

The sole purpose of this blog is to trace back the history of Market Simplified, its evolution, its development and what it stands for. The team of INXS contributes each and every article. INXS is striving to make a difference both to the trading community and the existing work culture. Read on to see how this would be possible.

We sincerely hope this blog reaches each every online investor who is striving to make a difference in his life, who has the burning passion to chase his dream and who definitely knows what he wants to be in a few years from now.

The Birth: Market Simplified was born in a hotel called ‘New Park’, near little India in Singapore. It was in this place that Nagendra and I(Venkat) had started discussing on new ideas and strategies while trying to prepare business collaterals for a previous project that we were working on. It was here that I chanced to mention about my Father-In-Law who as a trader was confined to his house between 10.00AM to 3.30PM whenever there was a new posting, this affected his activities and social life terribly. We thereby felt the need for a platform that would do away with this lack of mobility among traders and in fact do away with all the pains in the existing online investing systems. We also mused over the ‘pains in the system’ and decided that it was due to inefficiency in the trading scenario, as people are not equipped at the right time and the right kind of information about the market. And found that this was a global phenomenon. Thus Market Simplified was born, to do away with time constraint and information constraint and to offer mobility to retail investors. In short to relieve the retail investors from the ‘pains of trading’.

Dsc00566_3

While designing the strategy for this platform, we decided to make it ‘mobile’ and neutral of any agents or brokers. ‘The investor must be able to get information, analyse and trade wherever he is’- this formed the aim of Market Simplified. As we were discussing this we had the white paper for this new evolution ready by 4:00AM.

Next came the part of breaking the news to our other partners. Well it might not be easy to tell your partners to forget the existing project and to look at a new one, but since we believed in our ‘project’, and ourselves we went ahead and broke the news. And our partners seeing the zeal and conviction we had, decided to forge ahead!

Evolution: The present scenario of the market is completely complicated. We needed to break this myth and change to simplicity. Make investing in the market simple, getting the right knowledge about the market simple- this is what ‘Market Simplified’ aims to accomplish.

INXS, the company was taken over by us from the original founders(fans of music from INXS!). Since both the name and the ideology suited us, we decided to continue with the existing name of INXS but of course we made a slight change, it is not mere INXS it is ‘Life INXS’ Yes as the name suggest all of us live our lives (in) excess.

Evolution of Team INXS: Do you believe in the term ‘ hand picked’, well we do and we hand picked all our team members. The process of selection was different than what is followed conventionally. It was in this juncture that we met upon Harishankar and Sivakumaar and our association with Added Values therein became closer.

We had given the outline of the team that we required; it was Added Values to give shape to this. After teething trouble that we encountered for a month, we got the entire planning reorganised. What we were looking for were for people not with experience but the attitude to handle situations. Our interview process was different, we were more curious about the people attitude to adapt than to excel in what ever was their forte. People who had solid ambition and knew where they would be in a few years from now were our pick. Yes among the many we interviewed we zeroed in on a handful. The process itself was tough and if I say tougher than the most competitive industry, then I may not be wrong. We required some very tough requirements like that of people adept with ‘Ruby/Rails’ well there are only handful of them and probably 50 to 60 people in the entire country adept in this at that time, well this wish was also fulfilled by Added Values.

The team is well formed and are not mere part of INXS but own it. Yes they are stakeholders in INXS; in short we have people (owners) working towards their own ambition.

Work Zone: Why am I going blah blah over the work culture, well there is reason to it. I am mystified by many of the large industries, development houses that give such stringent time and tough job to their ‘employees’. The idea itself looks exhausting. I believe that no play but only work makes any tom dick and harry dull. Well we believe in working in our own comfort zones (each one has his own). We have the ‘Nintendo Wii’ to unwind, we have beach chairs to stretch and sleep. Our Pantry is filled, breakfast and lunch is on the house, why even the laundry is on the house. When one’s basic annoyances are taken care of, the productivity naturally increases. Well I won’t be surprised if you are looking for our address and already deciding to chuck your job;-) We will come to that part later buddy!

Dsc00560Dsc00567

Being owners the team sets their own goals and deadlines (believe me no one is checking with that, not even me!) and of course they are amply rewarded with whatever they require, be it a holiday or a rejunivation centre, we make sure they get what they need. Being the backbones they for sure deserve this “ living life INXS”
